Course Information:Investment Management Studies show the average investor's portfolio gains only about half of the long term results of stock and bonds. The reason - the average investor reacts improperly to fear, greed and market volatility. "Investment Management for Funeral Directors" will teach the necessary components to having a winning portfolio. Every funeral director needs this course to - grow his own investments, understand how to choose and evaluate the investment options within the company's retirement plan understand the investment choices behind either direct or insured pre-need funding. The Author Rick Huff attended Xavier University on a Football scholarship. He received his B.S. in 1975 with a major in accounting and an MBA also from Xavier in 1980. Rick started his career with a medical consulting practice in the accounting and tax departments and later joined a CPA firm located in Hamilton, Ohio. After two years in the CPA firm, Rick was employed by DuBois Chemicals, a subsidiary of Grace Chemical, in the corporate accounting department. Taking a managerial accounting position, Rick moved to Lynchburg, Virginia where a friend introduced him to a personal financial planning. After years of studying the financial planning field, Rick joined the practice his friend had started. His credentials include Certified Public Accountant and Registered Investment Advisor. As a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, he also belongs to the Personal Financial Planning Division of the AICPA. He was a contributing editor to the Financial Planning Section of the Journal of Accountancy and was the personal finance columnist for a number of years to TODAY, the official publication of the Associated Funeral Directors Association. Rick taught the Personal Finance and Investments course for a number of years at a local university and was a co-author of the book The Deferred Compensation Plan. As a frequent speaker and author on the subject of personal finance, he truly enjoys educating the public. Rick is the President and co-owner of Huff, Stuart & Carlton located in Forest, Virginia. Rick is also a member of NAPFA, a professional association of fee-only financial advisors. |
