Everyday Ethics for Funeral Service
No longer the domain of academics; ethics has become a necessary element in every profession, industry and business today. This course provides the funeral director with a simple-to-understand overview of ethics and how it applies to day-to-day activities in funeral service.
From basic definitions to real-world applications, this course allows funeral directors to make decisions about how to ethically conduct business and how to maintain ethical conduct, even when certain situations begin to blur the line between ethical and unethical behavior.
Everyday Ethics in Funeral Service teaches the necessary elements every funeral director wants – and needs – to know, answering questions about ethical behavior involving managers and coworkers as well as those behaviors required – and expected – by client families.
The Author
Alice Adams has been affiliated with the funeral service profession since 1989, serving as director of training and development for personnel involved, in every aspect of funeral home and cemetery operations. More recently, she is a contributing editor to The Texas Director, a monthly publication for the Texas Funeral Directors Association.
A graduate of the University of Texas, she holds degrees in education/mass communications and is a doctoral candidate at The University of Houston in the field of education leadership with a specialization in adult education.
She has developed educational materials for funeral directors for more than a decade and has authored more than two dozen continuing educational modules as well as textbooks used in mortuary schools across the country.
She has also co-written more than a dozen self-development books in the field of management and communications. An award-winning writer, she recently earned two first-place awards in the Texas Gulf Coast Press Association’s Annual Writing Competition.
