Course Information:Coping with Stress as a Funeral Director Stress is the result of rather than the cause of those anxieties that are created as we go about life. Funeral homes by the very nature of their work are a festering ground for stress. The client base of the funeral home does not want to be there and so, their tension and anxiety level is high. The time elements for preparing for and conducting a service are demanding, resembling that of a starter’s pistol when the telephone rings. You are expected to go from zero to brake-neck speed in the twinkling of an eye and there is little room for error. Understanding your own levels of stress and the stress levels of other is the cornerstone for personal success and reward. This course offers a basic understanding of stress. The Author Jerry Keller graduated from the Kentucky School of Mortuary Science in 1964 and has been involved both directly and indirectly with the Funeral Profession since that time and has been a Certified Bereavement Facilitator since 1997. |
