Course Information:![]() Texas Certificate of Death/Vital Statist In Texas, as in all states, every death begins a process which necessitates the filling out of and filing a Certificate of Death. A Certificate of Death once filed becomes a permanent legal record of an individual's death. While some needs for this "legal document" are obvious; settling of insurance claims, the transfer of real and personal property, evidence of death to be used in legal proceedings in a court of law; the death certificate also serves as a resource for a variety of medical/health related research efforts, which include diagnostic and therapeutic techniques. It is the responsibility of the person handling the disposition of a deceased to see to it that a death certificate is properly filed in accordance to the laws of the State of Texas. Richard is a published author of numerous articles pertaining to the funeral profession. Richard his served as a Curriculum Design and Implement Consultant within the Johnson City, Tennessee School System and a Guest Faculty Member at Virginia Intermont College, Bristol, Virginia. |
