What we collect

Your account: name, email address, password, and, if you give them, your mobile phone number and mailing address.
Your licenses: funeral director and embalmer license numbers and the states that issued them.
Your courses: the courses you order, your quiz results, your course evaluations, and the certificates you earn.
Your orders: what you bought, when, and how much you paid.
Messages you send us, course suggestions, and applications to become an author.

Card payments

Card payments are processed by Stripe. You type your card details on Stripe's secure payment page, not on our site, and we don't receive or store your card number. Stripe's handling of your payment information is described in the Stripe Privacy Policy.

How we use it

To give you your courses and quizzes and to issue your certificates of completion.
To report your completed continuing education to state licensing boards and approval agencies, where required.
To process your orders and refunds, and to answer your questions.
To send you license renewal reminders and news about our courses. Every such email lets you unsubscribe.

Who we share it with

We do not sell or rent your information. We share it only:

with state licensing boards and CE approval agencies, which can see the course completions of their licensees;
with your funeral home, if you join its account on our site: its managers can see your licenses, hours, courses and certificates (not the orders you place for yourself);
with Stripe, to process your payment;
with companies that host our website and send our email, only as needed to run them;
when the law requires it.

Anyone you give a certificate to can check it on our verify page, which shows your name, the course, the hours, the date, your quiz score and the last four characters of your license number.

Cookies

Our site uses cookies only to keep you signed in, to protect forms from forgery, and to remember your choice of light or dark mode. We don't use advertising or analytics cookies.

How long we keep it

We keep your course history and certificates permanently, so you can reprint certificates and show your credits if your state board audits you. If you want your account closed, contact us and we will close it. We may need to keep some records that state continuing education rules or tax law require.

Your choices

You can see and update most of your information under My account. A license number or name change on an issued certificate needs a call to us. You can unsubscribe from our emails at any time.

Security

Our site uses encrypted (HTTPS) connections, offers two-step sign-in, and we take reasonable steps to protect your information. No website can promise perfect security, so please use a password you don't use anywhere else.

Children

Our courses are for licensed funeral service professionals. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

Changes

If we change this policy, we will post the new version here with a new date.
